In collaboration with different industry professionals, Underscore Part 3 has launched a series of Access All Areas Pass Industry Interviews. With a lineup of wonderful, talented individuals to share their stories and knowledge, the AAA Pass interviews aim to demystify getting into the music industry and answer all of our questions. Although the interviews are free to tune into and watch back, Underscore Part 3 and WFM are encouraging donations to CALM and Save Our Venues Trust throughout July while this and their other events are taking place. For the past week, Underscore Part 3 has been live-streaming the AAA Pass Industry Interviews on Instagram: these interviews will continue each night until the 17th of July. Each live-stream is at 8 pm and is open to audience questions, as well as pre-interview questions via Twitter. In the past week, they have featured some amazing guests. They kicked off the week by interviewing AF Gang Founder and music photojournalist Lindsay Melbourne. Her interview was brilliant and her work setting up AF Gang truly shows the power of music communities and fan-bases to create a support network. Next, they interviewed Toni Coe-Brooker who works at The Green Door Store and Music Venue Trust. In this interview, she shared so many helpful tips for bands when approaching producers, venues and performing with COVID-19. Last Thursday, x Scott Lewis, founder of Clue Records, chatted to Tarek Musa about his experience as a musician in Spring King: he is now working under his musical pseudonym, Dead Nature, and as a producer. Lastly, on Friday night, they talked to Nick Meadows about his experiences with tour managing.
The range of guests they are having onto chat is brilliant because it gives in-depth discussion for all facets of the industry, both going into the nitty-gritty and large current topics. This week has featured Alex Wise, Matthew Hogarth, Frank Turner, Abbie McCarthy and Katie Tavini.
On my podcast ‘Flow’, which you can find here, I chatted to James Wadsworth. Sharing resources, information, and knowledge is so important. He underlined that we all need to “be kinder to each other”, emphasising that this is at the core of his project.
As well as AAA Pass interviews Underscore Part 3 has an upcoming collaboration with the Words For Music Blog to launch “Felt Cute Fest (Might Delete Later)”. So far, we know that it will be an “immersive” digital festival across a number of platforms to provide a sense of community, togetherness and connection between musicians and music-lovers alike. Sounds like the dream, right? There are lots more exciting details yet to be announced, so tune into Underscore Part 3's and Words For Music's socials.
