"This song, as discussed by frontman Dave Bayley, is about the short but seemingly never-ending period of time between delivery of bad news and receiving a reaction."
Ahead of their new album, Dreamland, due for release on the 7th of August, Glass Animals have been releasing snippets of what we can expect from album number three.
Sonically, 'It's All So Incredibly Loud' differs from the other singles from Dreamland, such as 'Heat Waves' and 'Your Love (Déjà Vu)', which are much more upbeat and punchy. Boasting a slow and steady tempo with a strong backbeat, this track has a strong message, brilliantly displaying the versatility of Glass Animals. The vocals perfectly complement this, again with prolonged notes which also accompany the meaning behind the song.
This song, as discussed by frontman Dave Bayley, is about the short but seemingly never-ending period of time between delivery of bad news and receiving a reaction. In a press release, he disclosed, “Quite often those moments are funny, sometimes awkward, sometimes heart-breaking, sometimes it’s about love or hate or sexuality. It’s about realising it’s ok to not have answers and it’s ok to not know how you feel about things and that it’s ok to be and look vulnerable”.
The sound of the song is intense, and the accompanying video is too. To visualise the idea of the song, the video is shot in slow motion with a sinister mist surrounding the frontman as he sings and jumps into a pool. As 'It’s All So Incredibly Loud' is about a mere three seconds in time: the slowed down and simplistic, yet impactful, action perfectly encompasses the message being portrayed. He makes contact with the water at the end of the video, symbolising the incoming reaction; he visually shows the proverb of being in "deep water”.
With the release of 'It’s All So Incredibly Loud', they also announced their UK tour for 2021, and we can’t wait to see them back.
